OVER 400 VOLUNTEERS  ARE PROVIDING SAFE AND HEALTHY HOUSING-RELATED REPAIRS FOR HOMEOWNERS AND NON-PROFITS ON THE SAN FRANCISCO PENINSULA THIS FALL WITH LOCAL AGENCY

Rebuilding Together Peninsula (RTP) celebrates its fall season, running Oct 9th through November 14th. Over 400 volunteers will complete free home repairs for 15 low income homeowners and community nonprofits in San Mateo and northern Santa Clara County. Repairs will include painting, wheel chair ramp installs, carpentry and fence repair, and landscaping, to help older adults, veterans, and people with disabilities across the San Francisco Peninsula.

“Rebuilding Day is an example of volunteerism at its best”, said Melissa Lukin, Executive Director for Rebuilding Together Peninsula. “Skilled tradespeople, corporate teams and community members partner with us to make it possible, including volunteer site captains who put their basic carpentry and leadership skills to work helping keep our most vulnerable homeowners safe in their homes and nonprofits better able to serve the community. By partnering with local companies and civic groups, these projects put love into action”.

Tencent America, Commercial Casework, and Stanford LBRE, amongst other key sponsors, are supporting this season’s builds with team volunteering and funding. For example, Tencent America will be providing playground and storage rehabilitation support for a childcare facility in Menlo Park’s Belle Haven neighborhood.

“Our volunteers from Tencent America really appreciate the “plug and play” aspect of Rebuilding Together Peninsula’s partnership, ” said Dr. Hongming Liu, senior IP counsel for Tencent America.  “Thanks to the meticulous planning of their staff, we are able to show up and contribute effectively to a meaningful project. Nothing beats the satisfaction and realization that by plugging into a great platform, our efforts can collectively make a difference.”

This is RTP’s fifth annual Fall Rebuilding Day. RTP also celebrates National Rebuilding Day, to be held April 24, 2027.
