REBUILDING TOGETHER PENINSULA’S FALL REBUILDING DAY IS OCTOBER 18, 2025.

Over 200 volunteers will help provide safe and healthy housing-related repairs for homeowners and non-profits across the San Francisco Peninsula this fall with Rebuilding Together Peninsula (RTP). With repair projects at five homes and community facilities, crucial renovations include painting, carpentry and fence repair, and landscaping, amongst other modifications and improvements for neighbors-in-need throughout the fall season.

Including five project sites on October 18th, RTP and its partners and volunteers will service 15 individual homes and community facilities this fall, across 22 individual volunteer events that began on September 6th and are scheduled through November 8th. The projects run throughout San Mateo County, from Daly City to East Palo Alto, as well as into Mountain View and Los Altos Hills in northern Santa Clara County.

“Rebuilding Day is a truly inspiring example of volunteerism at its best”, says Melissa Lukin, Executive Director for Rebuilding Together Peninsula. “It truly takes a village…sponsorship dollars and teams of volunteers from the business community and local civic groups, as well as the volunteer site captains who share their repair skills to lead over a dozen repair projects. These projects put love into action as they improve the safety of homes and facilities across the San Francisco Peninsula each year”.

More than 14 corporate organizations and service groups are sponsoring RTP’s Fall Rebuilding Day by providing volunteer labor and/or critical funding. These partners represent a breadth of industry, such as healthcare, technology, finance, and construction, and more, underscoring the ongoing broad recognition of both the need and the positive impact of RTP’s work.

One such sponsor, Kaiser Permanente, will be volunteering in Menlo Park on Saturday the 18th, addressing home rehabilitation needs for a senior homeowner who has been unable to address multiple repairs on her own.

“Kaiser Permanente’s mission includes supporting the communities we serve. I’m grateful our employees want to make such a meaningful impact,” said Shasta Addessi, senior vice president and area manager for Kaiser Permanente in San Mateo County. “Providing Rebuilding Together Peninsula with grant funding and painting a home in east Menlo Park demonstrates our support. Together, we are uplifting our neighbors in need.”

This is RTP’s fourth annual Fall Rebuilding Day. RTP also celebrates its annual National Rebuilding Day, to be held next on April 26, 2025.

About Fall Rebuilding Day

Inspired by the volunteerism of a group of neighbors-helping-neighbors in Midland, Texas in 1973, Christmas in April was founded as a national organization in 1988 and later became Rebuilding Together. Rebuilding Together Peninsula’s Fall Rebuilding Day began in 2021 to complement April’s National Rebuilding Day and is celebrated annually in mid-October, bringing together volunteer teams from civic, community, and corporate organizations to repair and rebuild homes and community facilities in-need.
