Our Repair Programs

Since 1989, Rebuilding Together Peninsula (RTP) has worked toward a vision of safe homes and communities for everyone through safe-and-healthy housing-related repairs and renovations, offered at no cost to our neighbors-in-need on the San Francisco Peninsula.

We currently provide these repairs through three core programs:
Safe at Home, Rebuilding Days, and Unleaded Homes San Mateo County.

Our Safe at Home program offers year-round service to homeowners for critical safety repairs and accessibility modifications.

Typical repairs include, but are not limited to:

  • Grab Bars
  • Wheelchair Ramps
  • Fence and Stair Repair
  • Plumbing and Electrical
  • Fire Extinguisher & Smoke/CO Detector Installation
  • Carpentry Work

and much more!

Depending on the size and scope of the project, service may be performed by our on-staff technicians, skilled volunteers, or contracted professionals.

Rebuilding Days

Our Rebuilding Day program offers partner organizations the opportunity to experience our rebuilding together work alongside us. Sponsored volunteers enjoy a day of team-building on larger, team-friendly projects that have immediate and positive impact on homeowners and community facilities on the San Francisco Peninsula.

Typical repairs include, but are not limited to:

  • Exterior and Interior Painting
  • Landscaping
  • Debris Removal
  • Fence Repair

and much more depending on the skill and experience of the project team.

Unleaded Homes
San Mateo County

Our lead paint safety program in conjunction with San Mateo County offers homeowners the opportunity to address lead-based paint inside their homes.

Lead-based paint, most common in older homes, has been linked to significant health issues for residents, particularly children. RTP’s free service includes testing and remediation, if needed, for homeowners within San Mateo County.

Our universal application offers the opportunity to be included in any, or all, of our programs. Once an application is complete with required paperwork, our staff will schedule a visit to determine the best program(s) that match your needs.

Nuestra aplicación universal ofrece la oportunidad de ser incluido en cualquier o todos nuestros programas. Una vez que se complete la solicitud con la documentación requerida, nuestro personal programará una visita para determinar los mejores programas que se adapten a sus necesidades.
