RTP’s Community Impact
The San Francisco Peninsula is one of the most expensive housing markets in the United States, yet there is estimated to be more than 50,000 low-income households in the region.
Those with fewer resources are more likely to experience unsafe housing conditions and are least able to address them. This often includes seniors on fixed incomes, veterans, those with disabilities, and other historically in-need populations. The home repair service Rebuilding Together Peninsula (RTP) offers at no cost to qualified homeowners provides increased affordable home ownership, and the renewed hope, dignity, and security of a safer home.
Did You Know?
In San Mateo County, falls account for 80% of accidental injury deaths in those 85 and older.
Simple in-home modifications offered by RTP like handrails, grab bars, ramps, and improved lighting can prevent such falls and their associated costs, allowing homeowners and their household members to safely age-in-place in their own home.
*95% of clients report they have not been injured by a fall since RTP has completed repairs.

RTP’s Social ROI
For every $1 put into a home repair by the Rebuilding Together network, there is a projected $2.84 of positive social impact value, generated through improved health, safety, independence, and cost savings.
Across the network, that means an estimated social return on investment of $22,452 per home.
