Our second annual Rebuilding Together Golf Tournament and awards reception took place on October 3 at Sharon Heights Golf and Country Club and raised nearly $340,000. This money will be used to provide year-round repairs so vulnerable homeowners such as the elderly and disabled don’t have to choose between buying basic necessities and living in a safe and healthy home.
Special thanks to our amazing golf tournament co-chairs, Fergus O’Shea and Paul Moran, and to our 144 participants and 35 sponsors, including Commercial Casework Inc., Level 10 Construction, Construction Testing Services, W. L. Butler Construction, Meta, McGuire and Hester Foundation, and more.
Wollenberg Award
At the golf tournament reception, we presented our annual Wollenberg Award, named after longtime friend, past board chair, and generous RTP supporter, David Wollenberg. This year’s awards went to the Bohannon Foundation and Nibbi Bros. Construction to show our appreciation for their extraordinary support and leadership in rebuilding lives with us.
The Bohannon Foundation has been supporting RTP for over 32 years, making them our longest-running National Rebuilding Day sponsor.
In addition to providing sponsorship for National Rebuilding Days for over a decade, Nibbi Bros. General Contractors has completed 23 major in-kind repair projects since 1996, representing over $650,000 of in-kind labor and materials. Mike Nibbi, the company’s vice president, will be terming off after having served on RTP’s board of directors for 16 years.
