OVER 200 VOLUNTEERS EXPECTED TO PROVIDE CRITICAL HEALTH AND SAFETY-RELATED HOME REPAIRS AT SITES ACROSS SAN MATEO COUNTY FOR FALL REBUILDING DAY
Rebuilding Together Peninsula (RTP) will celebrate its first Fall Rebuilding Day with the support of almost 300 volunteers from 12 partner organizations. Supporting project sites throughout San Mateo County, these volunteers will provide home repair and renovations for homeowners-in-need and select community facilities. Improvements will include painting, debris removal, electrical and accessibility upgrades, landscaping, grab bar and handrail installation, bathroom and kitchen improvements, and safety upgrades, amongst other repairs and modifications.
“We’re so excited for our first Fall ReBuilding Day! Scores of volunteers will repair multiple homes and community facilities throughout San Mateo County on a single day. They will create immediate, concrete, and long lasting improvements for our vulnerable neighbors. October 15th promises to be a transformative day for our community-minded volunteers and for those whose homes and community centers will be safer and healthier.”, shares Melissa Lukin, executive director for Rebuilding Together Peninsula.
A variety of corporate organizations, including Loweʼs, Tencent, Wells Fargo, Sobrato, Roche, Rambus, Stanford Health Care, Integrated DNA Technologies, NorthWall Builders, and Tri Counties Bank are sponsoring RTPʼs Fall Rebuilding Day, providing volunteer labor support and/or critical funding for materials. These partners represent a breadth of industry – construction, technology, retail, finance, and healthcare – underscoring the impact that RTPʼs work has across various sectors in the community.
Volunteers from Woodside Priory School and the Alpine chapter of the Young Menʼs Service League are also expected to participate in Fall Rebuilding Day, continuing valuable community service experience partnerships with Rebuilding Together Peninsula for the areaʼs youth.
